Subcultures in Norway.

Although many people see Norway as a simple country with little cultural diversity, it is possible to find some pop cultures, as well as highlighting a particular tribe that goes unnoticed by many. In the case of pop cultures, it is common to know Norwegian Black Metal as a quite prominent movement among Norwegians, especially in youth groups, who used this type of music to revive the memories of their ancestors using satanic techniques that encouraged atheism in Norway and thus influenced their followers to adopt violent behaviors. Eventually, this culture became more recognized for the large number of crimes and deaths attributed to its followers, than for its artistic ideologies. On the other hand, we can find a large number of people belonging to the Raggare subculture, which is related to the greaser subculture of United States of America. So they love the 1950s American pop culture, and American cars. These cars are typically old or classic, and are modified changing their engines for bigger ones in order to get more speed, they are called hot rods. They are influences for a movie called Rebel Without a Cause with James Dean. Because of their partly rural origin, their retro aesthetics, and their unusual pro-American stance, the Raggare are often seen by the Nordic community as a «White Trash», with bad taste and a tawdry attitude towards sex. Last but not least, it is important to highlight the Sami subculture as a representative tribe of Norway commonly known as «the guardians of the Arctic». This tribe is a faithful lover of the polar nature, whose members have their own language, gastronomy and customs. Exiled by the Vikings, the members of the Sami tribe became nomads, dedicated to reindeer herding, fruit gathering and fishing. The word «Sami» means «united people» which alludes to the main characteristic of their community and how nice these people can be.
